The interactive feeding guide allows you to enter the details of your dog, such as age and weight in order to calculate the approximate amount of Naturediet which should be fed. For overweight dogs the breed should be entered and a recommended weight for the dog will be given along with the amount of food to be fed.
If you know the weight of your dog then enter the appropriate details to calculate the amount of food required. As with any animal and just like humans, dogs can be small or large for their breed with no two being identical in their individual requirements. The feeding guide is as it says, a guide and therefore adjustments should be made accordingly. If on the amount of recommended food your dogs weight increases then the amount should be reduced and if weight decreases then increase the amount of food recommended. As a general rule of thumb, you should be able to feel your dogs ribs by light touch but they should not be protruding.
To prevent overfeeding and establish a suitable daily amount for your own dog, you may wish to start feeding at 20% less than stated (10% less for small breeds), observe for weight gain/loss and adjust accordingly to suit the individual dog.
